In 1945, Communists took control of Romania as well as the churches. Seeing this, Pastor Richard Wurmbrand ( Founder of The Voice of The Martyrs) began an “underground” ministry to help oppressed believers including Russian soldiers occupying his country. As a result, he and his wife were arrested and imprisoned.
To make matters worse, they were also forced into slave-labor for three years. Pastor Wurmbrand also spent three years in solitary confinement. As if that weren’t enough, he was transferred to a group cell, where he was tortured for five more years.
Many of us claim Christ as prominent in our lives but how many of us make Him preeminent in our lives? Prominence is the quality of standing out or being noticeable; preeminence is the quality of being superior above all else.
