It seems that lately, social distancing is the primary way of minimizing the impact of spreading illness. Social distancing is the deliberate act of increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading a disease.
The challenge we have with social distancing is that human beings are relational. We’re all wired with an intense need to connect to others despite being “independent.”
I remember the day my kids were born. I instantly realized they were wholly and utterly dependent on my wife and I. They could do nothing for themselves. As they’ve grown, they’ve become more independent, but like all of us, they still seek to connect with us and others.
We have this innate desire because God wants us to have a relationship with Him above all else. He wants us to seek Him as much as He follows after us. When we do, He promises to provide us with so much more.
Today take the time used in minimizing interactions with others to maximize your interaction with God. When you do, you’ll find comfort and fulfillment that surpasses all understanding.
