The other day my friend Drake and I were supposed to get together when he returned from visiting his mother. Unfortunately, the weather grounded him that day, and he could not return home.
As a licensed small aircraft pilot, Drake goes through various steps in preparation for a flight. One of those steps is watching the weather to determine the best time for his departure. Even though the weather may look good from the ground, satellite, and weather images from thousands of miles up give him a better picture of what’s going on.
His story reminds me of how we may not always see “the big picture.” Many times we have a limited perspective of what’s going on in our life. These limitations could be our emotions, situation, or actual physical location.
Regardless, we have the assurance God is always watching and in control from above. He’s got a plan for our journey; we need to let him map it out for us.
