As I was finishing up some yard work, my neighbor called me over. He just purchased a new lawnmower and offered up his old one to me. “I thought maybe you could give this to someone at your church.” “Sure,” I replied and thanked him for his kind gesture.
I then pushed it over to my garage and stored it away until I had a moment to ask around. A few days later, a fellow brother came over my house to pick something up. As we caught up on life and work, I casually asked if he knew someone who could use the lawnmower.
“I can !” he said. “What do you mean?” I asked. It turns out his lawnmower had broken down and was using his neighbor’s while he figured things out. I told him the story of what my neighbor told me and then followed up with “It’s yours.”
Afterward, I texted my neighbor and told him how his giveaway became a blessed gift for someone in need.
This story reminds me of how, as Christians, we’re to live a life where others will see our good deeds and praise our Father. Every interaction is an opportunity to introduce someone else to the remarkable relationship we have with Christ. In the process, they, too, will be blessed with the gift of salvation.
