As a CMO (Chief Marketing Officer), I consult for companies to create strategies for their company branding and messaging. In order to do my job effectively, I make it a point to learn every detail about the company. This means participating, asking questions and observing how things work.
Recently I started work for a specilaity veterinary emergency hospital. I was amazed at the level of technology used to diagnose and treat pets. They use the very same equipment used on humans. One such technology is an MRI machine.
Just the other day someone brought in a dog that was limping, crouching and barley walking. Initial X-rays by their vet shed little light on the situation. However, once they brought out the MRI, they could see in detail the spinal cord, vertebrae and exact location of the compression. As a result, they scheduled the surgery and today the dog is recovering well and leading a much better life.
